Plex DLNA memory leak... still going on after 4 years

Server Version#: 1.31.0.6654
Player Version#: 1.65.1.3596-7b1f6d97

I’m not sure why this isn’t fixed yet but when do you think this’ll be fixed?

It’s currently eating 13GB of RAM while doing nothing. Some people suggested disabling DLNA, though I’m using DLNA with some of my devices.

I can confirm that I am seeing the DLNA leak on Version 1.32.0.6973. This is on the official Plex docker container in Unraid (1.32.0.6973-a787c5a8e). It got up to 13-14GB on my machine as well.

It’ll likely never be fixed. They’ve tried for the past several years to find it and it can’t be found.

The only real chance of fixing it is to completely rewrite the DLNA server which isn’t going to happen (usage level doesn’t merit it)

If you have an alternative then use it.

Thanks for the response, it got me to realize I had other options. For anyone else in my situation, I found that minidlna was really effective with low RAM usage.
