Idling DLNA server consuming 18gb of ram!?

I recently enabled the DLNA server a couple weeks ago so I could access my music on a new WiiM pro …and yesterday I noticed it was using 18gb of memory!! Is this a known issue …saw some old threads from years ago about a memory leak, surely that’s been fixed by now? LOL

I did not get screenshots or logs. If it happens again I will.

Chances are it’ll never be fixed: Plex DLNA memory leak... still going on after 4 years - #3 by ChuckPa

Speaking candidly,

  1. There’s a known leak in the code which hasn’t been found.
  2. The only way to solve it it to rewrite the whole DLNA server.
  3. (the catch) The usage metrics don’t support the hours required. (last I looked)
  4. If management were to decide to rewrite it anyway, that’s their option.

If WiiM had support for Plex/PlexAMP …I wouldn’t care about DLNA!
