Hi, so for a while now any remote Plex user on my server shows their WAN IP as 172.17.0.1 rather than their actually ISP IP. The server is based on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS but within a Docker container. The service provider are a little reluctant to spend time looking into the issue, so I was just wondering if anyone may know of a potential fix?
The typical docker configuration use the (horribly misnamed) bridged networking. If your machine is behind a home router, this introduces a double-NAT. While it is possible to configure everything to work in this circumstance, it is difficult.
You are likely best switching to host or macvlan networking. These both eliminate the double-NAT and the PMS will actually be on your LAN network.
