I have Plex loaded on my Qnap server and watch videos on my Apple TV as well as occasionally in my browser on my computer. It doesn’t matter on which device I watch, even if its the same one (like I watched something for 10 minutes on Apple TV, hours/day(s) later I come back to keep watching it on the same Apple TV) a lot of the time (most) the watch status will not change or it will show change to some of the video files but not others.
Example: I have 4 videos I want to watch that are in a series, 2 in 1 season and 2 in another season. I will call them videos 1, 2, 3, 4 for ease.
I watch episode 1 and 2 in 1 sitting, the next day I go to watch 3 and 1 shows at 75% and 2 as 100%. I mark 1 as watched and start and finish 3 and then start 4. The next day I go to watch 4 and its reverted itself: 1 is at 75% and 2 at 100%, 3 and 4 are unwatched.
This happens often but not every time which I find odd. It doesn’t matter if I switch between Apple TV and my browser, or if I just use 1 of them. It’s like Plex isn’t syncing back to the server the progress I have made. For a loop sometimes the scenario above will happen but in that example all progress on 3 and 4 is remember but 1 will still revert back to 75% watched.
