Plex Does not utilise GPU for decoding

Hello!

I’ve just noticed that my plex instance does not utilize gpu for video decoding but only for encoding. This issue applies to any codec like H264 which is definetly supported by my gpu.
This gets me high cpu usage.

As far as i know plex can utilise gpu for the decoding part too, and as i remember it worked flawlessly in my past installation on the same environment.

I do run plex as a service, could this be a problem?

Yes. Don’t do that if you want gpu transcoding to work.
