We know the bug is caused by AVM. But it would be realy nice if the plex devs would fix it by their own. Because I don’t know if the AVM guys will ever find the issue or all with special fritz box models will ever be fu***ed up.
The really interesting question for me is: why is windows not affected by this?
Maybe the plex devs use different network interfaces to get the film posters in windows. Maybe they have different source code there. I don’t know…
But there should be a way to fix this issue without waiting for the AVM fix. That wouldn’t be the best solution but I think they (plex) do strange stuff so that this problem appears. Otherwise this should happen in a lot of other software.
I fixed the problem by installing a BETA firmware in my Fritzbox 6660 (7.14-76932). So it really looks like an AVM problem. To my knowledge only the newer Cable Fritzboxes 6591 and 6660 are affected by this problem.
I think you didn’t understand what I wanted to say. I didn’t say it’s not a problem of the firmware. I just said that the way how plex implements his code triggers this issue.
