I just bought a HDHomeRun Extend which I was planning on setting up this weekend but I’ve run into an issue. My Plex server can’t see the tuner.
I didn’t expect the auto detect to work since they’re on different subnets, but I can’t even connect by manually entering the IP. The Plex server can ping the tuner, open its web interface, and pull a stream via VLC.
Are there any logs I can look into to see what it’s doing and why it’s failing?
EDIT: Server is v1.7.5.4035 and is running on Windows 10. I don’t get any errors when entering the tuner IP, it just sits there with the spinner forever.
I stretched the vlan Plex is on to the switch where the tuner is at and that solved the problem. Does this require multicast or something else that wouldn’t pass a L3 boundary?
Eh… No joy. First recording shows “An unknown error occurred” and now the settings section for Live TV & DVR shows “Device not found. Ensure your device is powered on and connected to your network.”
I can still connect to the web interface, ping it, etc. though.

I replaced the antenna I was using and now it seems to work.
