Plex doesn't show files from my external hard drive

I’ve set up Ubuntu on my raspberry PI. Then I’ve installed Plex media server on this Ubuntu installation. After this I try to connect my external hard drive with the Plex media server (so I can play the media on it). The problem is I don’t get to see any files here if I want to add them to Plex.
