I’ve been a Plex Pass subscriber for years. I’ve never been able to watch anything outside of the home (covered in a separate thread) and for the past few months, largely been unable to watch anything in the home.
Generally when attempting to watch a program on Apple TV Plex app, I just get a waiting icon spinning on screen. If I play a recording in mobile resolution through the Apple TV on my 4k TV it might play but only with regular stuttering and the picture is so pixelated you cannot even make out a person’s face.
I’ve tried many things having got a lot of Plex advice from the Synology forum (my library is on a NAS and server on a Mac).
I have now set up a second server on a different Mac to see if that will allow high resolution transmission, but cannot get the Apple TV to change to this new server. I attempt to set up a new user on the Apple TV and after entering my user ID sends me to the old server.
I am at a loss as to how to get the Apple TV to point to the new server and would appreciate any advice.
I am hopeful that the new server will allow me to play programs at the maximum HD resolution of 576i I know from past experience that Plex should be capable of on my 4k TV.
