Cannot play Movies on my TV via Apple TV and App Plex, while via DLNA it is possible, why?

I’m new to Plex and please forgive my GooglEnglish …

Until yesterday, without Plex Pass and via DLNA, I could see movies perfectly on my TV.

Today I bought Plex Pass, I put the Plex App on Apple TV 4K (2020), but I don’t see anything anymore; or better:

  1. I see my Plex Server with graphics, covers, info etc .;

  2. I navigate perfectly;

  3. but if I play to see a movie I don’t see anything, the screen is black with the wheel spinning all the time.

The same problem I have on the iPhone and iPad on which, of course, I have the Plex App.

On the same Apple TV as well as iPhone and iPad I see Netflix, Prime Video and …

So I don’t think it’s a Wi-Fi connection problem, if it were a Wi-Fi problem I wouldn’t see movies via DLNA; it’s correct?

What could be the problem? I rely on you!

Try to reboot your server and sign-out / back into the apps.
There shouldn’t be general issue but occasionally I’ve seen users getting some hiccups after upgrading their Plex account.

I restarted the Plex Media Server and, I don’t know how, I managed to get it to work on Apple TV 4K, iPhone and iPad.

But I don’t understand why after the Play it takes about 60 seconds before the film starts …

Hard to tell without additional information.
One potential cause could be if your media is stored on an external drive and that drive is allowed to spin down (see Mac power saving settings).

Yes, the Plex Media Server Library storage is on an SSD external to the Mac mini M1 and connected via USB-C Gen. 2.

Could this be the problem?

An SSD connected via USB-C shouldn’t be a problem.
Keep in mind this is not about the location of the server’s data directory but the location of your actual media files.

Yes, the Plex Media Server is installed on Mac mini M1; while the library, the media archive, is on the SSD connected to the Mac via USB-C Gen. 2.

The delay does not exist if I watch a movie on the Mac, it starts immediately!
