Is anyone else having issues with there plex server not working at the moment?
Mine’s working.
You can check the status of central components of the Plex environment here:
https://status.plex.tv/
However… this will obviously not show if your own server is up and running.

I updated today to the latest version and now I cannot access from external network.
But if everything is down for you, you can check Plex status on updowntoday.com. Or just go directly to the Plex status page https://updowntoday.com/en/sites/plex.tv

You can get the status info on central Plex components much more detailed from status.plex.tv
The page / „service“ you’ve linked in your post checks the availability of the plex.tv website… based on pinging it when you ask them to and checking if other users asked the same.
That’s like calling a whale a fish because it swims in the ocean…

Just a thought, but there’s information to be had from doing it both ways. If they can’t get to status.plex.tv, but they can get to updowntoday.com and see that plex is indeed running, that tells them there isn’t a problem necessarily with their personal internet, it could be a routing problem, they could have their IP banned, their ISP could be blocking one and not the other, etc. By looking at that site, you can see how large the problem actually is and how many people it possibly affects. The other way the OP could do it is by trying a VPN close to home, and another in a different country. There was a day once upon a time when Level 3 decided to disconnect themselves from Cogent, so trying to get to Google.com from Orlando, FL was nearly impossible, however, I could see on downrightnow.com that it wasn’t just me having the issue, and the issue wasn’t local to just Orlando, but I could also see that not everyone was having the issue and many people could, in fact, connect still. It helped regular users to determine the scope of the outage, and where to lay the blame.
For the average person, more relevant info is usually a good thing, allowing for more educated guesses… So it does help, even if it doesn’t fix the problem…
