Status.plex.tv

What’s the point of having a status page when it’s not updated in real time?

When I was new to plex every time my plex had an issue I always thought it was me. Even going as far as to reinstall plex. I would go to the status page and it’s always 100% operational even when it’s not.

Now I know better that the status page is a lie and if my plex is having an issue it’s most likely on the plex.tv backend.

New users don’t know this and end up messing with their plex install and messing something up like I’ve done countless times.

Can we get actual live status of the backend? Better yet let us enter an email so we get notified when there’s an issue. This is getting ridiculous.

you would think with a PAID service that a catastrophic failure like this would show up properly in status monitor. the monitor itself is probably down as well LOL

Is there even a plass to log a trouble ticket? I thought there used to be one, but I don’t see anything that specific anymore (or I could be missing it?)

So what you guys are saying… Plex is down?

yes the API appears to be down

Plex.tv api is down… yes

Status page shows there’s nothing wrong.

I can get into my friends Plex but not mine. strange?

new update on the status page.

plex.tv - Authentication and API server ?Degraded Performance

If you are logged in already it’s fine — plex.tv is down. That means the web version of plex and all account settings are down. Some people won’t be able to view their server or login if they aren’t already

cant open plex on tv, cant open plex web in browser, cant even login to this stupid forum outside incognito mode.
Plex dont care about its customers, only adding new features no ones asked for.

Correct, came in the house to abuse from my wife for the ONCE AGAIN crappy Plex system I’ve foisted on everyone.

My kid can’t watch our own material on our OWN server due to this nonsense.

I had to manually stop/start the server on my Synology to fix it after this LATEST outage.

My wife doesn’t know how to do that and isn’t interested in knowing, but WHY SHOULD SHE?

Pure Plex Pish again.

edit: and I already thought I bypassed this crap from happening again in the network settings, clearly not. This outage caused the actual server to flip out.

It’s a nonsense.
