Plex Download Feature - Big Backwards Step - All not Lost?

A month since this:

Could someone from Plex confirm the bug is already identified by now and a fix is scheduled?
Thanks in advance.

This fix was included in Plex for Android 9.7.0. Please let us know if you are still experiencing this problem.

Edit - That is the current beta. If you are not using beta, this should become public soon.

I’m on iPhone - iOS, so What is the schedule to be fixed on iPhone/iOS ?

Oh sorry. It is coming to iOS soon. There is a small issue getting that fix in, but they are working on it.

After a month from your last comment… Any update on when this fix will be released on iPhone iOS?

We got the issue resolved for getting the fix into iOS. It should be in the next release or the one after that.

What a complete farce.

Do I get a refund for all the time this basic feature didn’t work?

Very upset paying customer

This is not fixed!
I’m on:

  • Plex iOS version 8.9
  • Plex Windows 10 Media Server version 1.29.0.6244-819d3678c

You guys are not making this clear neither in what version is this being fixed (if it was). It seems that you are not hearing your loyal customers. Not sure what to expect at this point.
I watched your videos for than fan week… well I do not care of any of those new features or good stuff that you said you are implementing if the basics is not working.

(I don’t get it… your CEO is not having this issue?)

Please ESCALATE this issue!!!

Which release #, and new version of iOS client or Plex server?

I can confirm I have been having issues with even being able to play music when not connected to wifi or cellular. I am on android not iOS so something definately changed. I also have my app set to download 64-128gb of local music, I have showing 30 songs…uh…because math? Something is still wrong. I would love to have cell signal all the time but not possible just want to have the best of both worlds without my tunes stopping randomly because no connection when it is set to always play local… I have the latest updates of all apps including media server on ubuntu linux. Please advise!

Plex Guys. Was this issue fixed? On What version?
Could you PLEASE attend your subscribers??? For how long we have to keep asking and posting frustration here? Just make the info available!

Well on Server version 1.29.1.6316 (PlexPass) and iOS version 8.9 after doing a metadata update across my libraries I’m getting local downloads that take a few minutes.
Before that I was seeing downloads taking days, and most of the time failing.
Thanks Plex and I hope is stays stable.

It’s is not stable when it keeps re-downloading for no reason music that was previously downloaded.
If at least they could be more transparent an explain in what version was fixed this silly issue that could help to easy the frustration.

The fix has not been released yet. Likely in 8.11.

It seems this bug was fixed. It took more than a year to get fixed. Congratulations.

still not fixed. Can’t download on all three of my android devices all error out.
Error message : ā€œThere was an error downloading this file. swipe to remove or tap to retryā€

Server Version 1.30.0.6486
App Versions:
S10+: 9.13.0.37280
S7: 9.13.1.37459
Samsung tablet SM-P600: 9.13.37459

all devices on latest update.

But the reported bug here was an undesired auto re-download. Plex was removing already downloaded music and then it downloaded it again.
What you describe seems to be some other problem, so may be you should open a new topic for the issue you are experiencing… but I understand your frustration… good luck getting the proper attention.

Still there is something going on when trying to play downloaded music. Some times when not being at home, tap in Downloads and some albums are shown with a spinning wheel for minutes not letting you play a desired album.
I’ve only 12 albums downloaded but the spinning wheel goes for several minutes. There is nothing to sync but the app is just wasting time in some place.

Why we have to wait to play already downloaded music.
What is going on?

Can you get me a log from the client while the spinner is going?

I restarted my iPhone and then opened the Plex app and tap in Downloads. A list of albums is shown (I don’t have more than 12 albums) and the spinning artifact started on 4 albums not allowing me to do anything. This is a very frequent behavior (bad behavior).

Find attached the requested file + a picture of the spinning artifacts. This time it was spinning for more than 5 minutes
PlexDebugInfo-ricardo_118-8.13-4532 (2023-02-02 18.18.55 -0800).zip (3.3 MB)

Also check from the picture that at the bottom of the screen there is a song ā€œMemories Down the Lineā€, well… if I tap on the x to close it it does not work, or if I tap on the play it doesn’t play anything.
