So buying a car with rear seat entertainment and I don’t want to pay for wifi. With all streaming devices the Plex app that’s available will not allow for offline mode for pre-downloaded content. So i’m asking is there a way to sideload a mobile version of the Plex app or does anyone know of a hardware stick with Android mobile OS on it that’s an HDMI output with some kind of expandable storage like SD/MicroSD/USB and a Bluetooth remote?
- A tablet that supports HDMI output.
- A phone that supports HDMI output.
- A laptop with Plex Desktop.
No idea if any work with a Bluetooth remote.
All of those solutions require my kid to interface with a phone and putting wear on the HDMI port.
A mobile plan with unlimited data and hotspot capability. Attach streaming stick to the hotspot and stream away.
Would maybe the older Android TV version work? Or is that the same download as the Google TV. There are some older android 9, 10, 11, 13 and 14 android tv boxes they still sell. Wonder if that would download the mobile version of the app.
