Plex DSM 7 Randomly Stops

Server Version#: 1.24.1.4931

PMS randomly stops, normally around the time the scheduled tasks run. I have to manually open Package Center and run PMS again.

I have the same problem. Have you found any solution/work around?

May I have the logs please (collected right after restarting) so we can start to figure out what’s happening and get it fixed ?

I already sent the logs but happy to re-send. Thanks.

@Steveoh66

If you sent them, I know not where / have forgotten.

What your logs show is an apparent crash during media analysis upgrade.

Would you be willing to disable media analysis in the Scheduled Tasks so we might confirm ?

@ChuckPa

I did suspect that, so I disabled ‘Upgrade Media Analysis’ and ‘Perform Extensive Media Analysis’ yesterday. Just waiting to see if it has any effect. Thanks.

@ChuckPa
No unexpected shut-downs since disabling Media Analysis.
I’ll continue to monitor.

I’m now running PMS version 1.24.2.4973

We’re starting to suspect an issue within PMS (duh - haha).

PMS 1.24.2 does contain a bunch of fixes but there still might be something.

If it does stop again, we will check for a ‘crash’.

If we find one, then we’ll turn Crash Reporting OFF
Doing so allows us to grab the DMP file (of the failure).

That DMP + the logs ZIP file will make it easier to figure out where it did fail.

OK. Thanks for your help.
