Plex stops running

Server Version#: 1.24.1.4931
Player Version#:5.23.1 on LG TV

I’m running PMS on a Synology DS220j with DSM 7

I’ve found that PMS is regularly being manually stopped for some reason. I only discover this when the Player app on my TV fails to connect, I then have to open DSM and restart Plex via my PC.
I have discovered that these stoppages seem to happen three minutes after Plex starts running background maintenance tasks.

How can I rectify this?

I experienced this case twice after upgrade ver.1.24.2.4973 for 2days.

Please think carefully?

  • Does PMS actually stop (the processes terminate)
  • Does it become non-responsive

I’m trying to track this down.

There are bugs in DSM 7 but identifying them is tricky.

Moving the files around (which is what PMS 1.24.2.4973 package does) won’t be it.

EIther DSM or PMS – that’s the challenge.
