I’m not sure if this is the intended result or if it’s a bug, but if a recording was not entirely successful, then after the recording ends (or the time it would have ended if it hadn’t failed) the recording no longer shows in the recording schedule, or else it shows but with no indication that it wasn’t completely successful.
For example: I wan’t to be able to look at my recording schedule page and see what recordings, if any, did not record successfully the night before. If something failed to initiate recording, started recording late, or ended early, or got interrupted, I want to be able to see that at a glance.
Instead, shows that never even started recording are simply removed from the recording schedule, swept under the rug, so to speak, until I go to watch the latest episode and find it isn’t in the system. Or, if a recording is interrupted, and for some reason only recorded 6 minutes of an episode before the recording failed, that stays on the recording schedule but shows on the recording schedule as “successful” with no indication that anything went wrong unless you select the recording to bring up the episode’s info page and see it’s only 6 minutes long. I currently have 12 tuners feeding into Plex with, for example, 35 recordings scheduled for this coming Monday. I can’t be monitoring every single recording duration to see if they’re all the right length, and I especially can’t be making a note of the schedule for every day and comparing that with what’s still on the list at the end of the day to see what Plex failed to record but is hiding it from me.
Is there some way to monitor this better, or is my system not doing what it’s supposed to?
Thanks for any help!
