Plex DVR Not seeing Wintv Card

Server Version#:1.42.2.10156-f737b826c
Player Version#:All Players
Tuner Make/Model:WinTV-quadhd 1651xx
Guide/Lineup name:N/A
Using XMLTV?:N/A
Channel number/Name:
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Plex has seen it in the past and set up just fine.

I hadnt checked on the live tv for about a while and now the tuner card is not in plex and plex will not find it…it just keep saying looking for HDHomeRun.

I can install the winTV 10 app and it picks it up right away and runs how it should.

I have also unstalled the app thinking the app would interfier as some have noted.

I beleive I was on the x86 version with I last saw it work. I updated to x64.

I tried the beta no help. I am on the latest non beta version of plex now 1.42.2.10156-f737b826c

The Server OS is 2016 v1607

Any help would be appreiciated.

I just replied to another user with a similar issue.
https://forums.plex.tv/t/could-not-tune-channel-wintv-dualhd/931983/5
Except that if you uninstall the WinTV app, you are probably uninstalling the Hauppauge drivers that Windows and Plex both need.

I have tried it both with it installed and without. I have also tried it with WinTV8

After removing WinTv10 I am getting the:

Driver Provider: Hauppauge

Driver Date: 9/28/2023

Driver Version: 1.60.41271.0

The issue for me is that Plex does not detect the TV Card. So not getting to the Scanning for channels portion yet.

Thanks for the suggestion

Was it working on Windows Server 2016 before and now it’s not?
I’m assuming that the PMS and tuner card are both installed on the Windows Server.

Yes it was working. But as far as feature updates or major updates that I am not sure of.

Thanks

Is this the right Forum for the Devs to see my issue?

Thanks

Did you try stopping Plex and renaming the database files to something else and starting fresh?

Country: USA

Zip Code is 53711: Although I am not getting to where I would see the guide.

Server: Windows Server 2016 Version 1607 (Build 14393.8422)

My Card is on the list: Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD (PCI & USB)

Which Log files would be needed. All of them is about 59 Megs.

Thanks!

OK so I had not tried renaming the com.plexapp.plugins.library.db file yet.

Doing that fixed it…but I was faced with the entire music, tv and Movie scan. The music last time I re did a scan took almost a week.

So I renamed the original back. Problem still there.

So I renamed the:

tv.plex.providers.epg.cloudxxx.db

tv.plex.providers.epg.cloudxxx.db-shm

tv.plex.providers.epg.cloudxxx.db-wal

Restared Plex and services:

Plex recreated new ones.

My tuners showed back up and automaticly rescanned the channels.

So thanks for the comment. “Did you try stopping Plex and renaming the database files to something else and starting fresh?” Which I didn’t want to do but got me heading in the right direction.

This helps pin down that the problem was with the EPG database files and not your main database, which as you pointed out is a larger undertaking.

For whatever reason the EPG database is never closed properly and can develop a problem, especially when removing and re-adding the DVR. It is totally safe to delete these files (with Plex stopped) and let it rebuild.
