Plex DVR - Sky TV

Hi all,

With the DVR facility it states that i may have access to subscription channels through DVR for “free”. I’m not entirely sure if thats correct considering it costs money via Sky?

Can someone clarify how the Live DVR facility works and do you need to pay for “subscription” channels?

Any clarification would be much appreciated.

Where are you seeing them mention subscription channels? I see nothing in the Live TV and DVR pages that mention subscription channels. They mention “your free HDTV digital broadcast channels.”

Additional information with sources you are using would be helpful.

Currently i have not yet used the feature. But when i use the facility to see what channels are available it shows me channels you would normally need to pay for in the UK through the likes of Sky, Virgin, BT or NowTV?

you seem to be missing the “over the air” part which means free antenna signals that is what broadcast channels means, not a cable service like SKY

we do not provide channels in any form. You need to have an antenna for free channels or a cable subscription like Sky and pay them if you want their channels

additionally as it states encrypted (DRMd) channel are not supported. we have no way to tell which channels from any particular provider in any particular region are encrypted or not.
