Plex sometimes fails to record a show (presumably from bad reception) and if I’m lucky it might give an error message like “There was a transcoder error”. After a while, even those will disappear as if the recording was never even attempted.
Meanwhile on a parallel setup ChannelsDVR will record the entire show, corruption and all. I much prefer to have the whole episode (corruption and all) like Channels provides instead of Plex’s solution of not recording anything.
On this most recent failure of Plex, running the corresponding recordings from Channels through TS Doctor gives me an error map like this:

Those thick red sections around the 35 minute mark are visually glitchy, but the rest of the show is almost completely clean during playback.
Can you guys fix this problem in Plex? If your transcoder can’t handle errors maybe give us a checkbox to turn off the transcoding and just record the raw stream straight off the tuner.
I’d like to use the Plex DVR exclusively, but it just isn’t reliable.
