I am asking this question here as I don’t see a section specifically for Plex DVR.
If I buy an HD Homerun to run Plex DVR will I be able to copy the recordings to watch off line on a PC/Mac without any streaming involved.

Sure, once the recording is done it will just like any other piece of media on your HDD

oh, and there is a Plex DVR section, but it is in the PlexPass only section.
But questions here are fine as well

Thanks. Does that mean I need to upgrade my Plex software ?

You will need a PlexPass subscription and then that will give you access to the special DVR version of Plex Media Server.

Hi, I set up my PlexPass subscription so I could use the DVR function. I don’t see the the Create a DVR button on the Server page that should be there according to this document https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/225877347-Set-Up-and-Configure-a-DVR
