I’ve got Plex Media Server installed on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and use a HDHomerun Extend (obviously have antenna) and am interested in Plex DVR. I’ve seen mixed messages about whether you need to download extra software to use the Plex DVR. Can anyone tell me if I can do this and what steps are needed beyond scanning for new channels with Plex DVR, etc… I really need to know if after purchasing Plex Pass if all I need to do is go into setup and scan for channels/setup DVR. Thanks.
You will need a PlexPass subscription and then download and install the special beta version of Plex Media Server

not sure if I did something wrong, but I saw that 1.2.2.2857 was out, and big yellow bar telling me to update. I don’t have any clue on Linux because Ubuntu is new to me, but I was successful on installing this version. Imagine my surprise to notice that it didn’t include the DVR!!!
At least I’m getting good practice with installing packages on Ubuntu… Back to latest Beta 1.2.0.2838.
Has anyone else tried this new version and are you getting same results?
