Hi everyone, don`t you think that the way Plex handles EXTRAs content is
outrageously bad? Yes you do. I always knew that this feature was bad but a few days ago i finally ripped my Fringe BluRays collection that have EXTRAs for every season and these are not related to a particular episode and are divided by type so renaming them as the episodes and putting them in one folder is not an option.
I am just asking for the same EXTRA`s bad handling as usual but DIVIDED by EACH SEASON.
I am sure i`m not the only one that has encountered this problem so please upvote this posts so that the Devs can hear our voices!
I don’t think that it’s “awful” the way that Plex handles extras. Having said that, the fact that not all apps show them properly, and consistently, is a bit disappointing. Some apps will show the extras you have for seasons properly (I believe the android apps, maybe apple), some, (I think) group them all under the main page for the series, or only show the extras specifically for the series, but not seasons. So we never actually know what we’re gonna see or have available.
Theoretically, you can add sub-folders at both the show and season levels (trailers, featurettes, shorts, scenes, etc). Finding a way to actually see them work as they are supposed to might become frustrating.
As per leelynds response:
You can already do that. Plex will recognize local extras for all tv-show tiers… shows, seasons and episodes.
The only downside is that not all apps will display extras on all those levels. There’s an existing feature suggestion asking to close this gap. So unless you’re looking for something completely different, I suggest you comment/vote I. That thread in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes.
