This is a problem on gen3 firetv cubes. The client infrequently decides to request transcoding on supported H265 content into H264 for no reason(it says playback attempted but failed). In the recent cases simply stopping playback and restarting the show will have it direct play with zero issue. How do I force the client to not request transcoding for formats it directly supports(you would think this would be the default configuration but I could not find any options in the settings to enforce this)? I did not take debug logs on the server as unfortunately the client does this randomly and it is impossible to replicate in any consistent manner.
I came across another one where it was doing transcoding on HVEC but in this case it was just copying the Video and the Audio and not actually transcoding anything. Not sure why it as it was a MP4 container and when I stopped the video and restarted it, it immediately started doing direct stream. Same thing as before I could not get it to reproduce it to grab any logs from the client.
