They did tell us. Read the blog post.Agreed. Since it's already been announced, I wonder if anyone from Plex can just tell us when it's about to drop, or do we have to wait until it appears one day.
Based on previous dev's work with Sony, it's most likely out of Plex's hands and behind Sony's secrecy shield.
If true, there's no way for anyone outside Sony to find out when it will appear in the NA store.

Not entirely true. All someone needs to do is to hack into their servers and poke around a bit. :D

I just re-read the blog post and it looks the same as when I first read it.
Assuming Plex knows when it's ready and is not blindly waiting like we are, what Im asking about is a "All the details have now been worked out now with SCEA and Plex will drop on Tuesday" possibility.

I think Plex is pretty much in the same boat that we are in. I'm going to assume that this process is very similar to the process of submitting an app for Samsung's Smart Hub application. The developer submits it, but the application has to go through a battery of trials as a part of Samsung's internal QA process. This process may take days or weeks, and the developer is kept mostly in the dark about it. That is all understandable to me, but what I don't get is that the PS4 app seems to have passed Sony's QA without a hitch for the rest of the world. I'm curious as to the details for the NA holdup.
Maybe they found some issues with the european version they wanted to iron out and decided to wait until the next update to release it.
I'd say that, more than likely, they found some bugs with the NA version. (is the hardware different form NA to EU?)
Hardware is the same. Its a good client but it obviously have some minor issues.

My money's on the "we test in Europe, and only release in NA when the public approves" theory.

Well got some bad news on that front, I don't see how the public approves a 720P player!
I think most people won't even notice the difference. Also, for most people, the sis better than nothing/the Web player. Not everyone owns a stream box (I agree a chromecast might be a better, cheap choice ).Well got some bad news on that front, I don't see how the public approves a 720P player!
Wait.. it's only 720P?
There are great conspiracy theories. Hint: SCEE and SCEA are two different business entities.

Thanks for the insight.
Still not available??
I've always had a EU account and a JP/HK account on my Sony systems. Sometimes those stores get different demos etc, so it's good to have them. I downloaded Plex from my EU account and watch via my main account (North America), simple.
I did the same thing with my UK account.
Make an Europe account, Set that up in a different profile on your PS system, download Plex and then use it in any profile in your console. It's not rocket science.

The UI is 720p. I downloaded it using a UK based PSN account I created from inside the US. One annoying thing to note is the content is region locked and can only be used from an account where the region is supported.
The web browser method on PS4, at the moment, is a better option imo. The app doesn't have nearly the amount of features.
