Plex for Xbox One Companion not working

Hi,

I have an issue where i try and connect to my Xbox One from my (Chrome) browser to remotely control it but it doesn’t work. I see the “XboxOne” in the player dropdown on the plex server webpage of players currently playing content but when I select it, nothing happens.

I checked the logs and the relevant errors are:

Any ideas what these mean?

Achelon

@Achelon I don’t have an answer because I’ve never tried it this way. Is there a reason you’re attempting this instead of using the Plex app on the Xbone?

Was handy to control the xbox without resorting to the controller (i like to browse the web whilst watching stuff) - this functionality worked perfectly before but seems to have got broken.

Interesting. I use Smart Glass from my laptop (I to like to browse the web while watching shows). But now you’ve got me curious to try controlling through Chrome.

no smartglass for Mac :frowning:

Wow, I would think since it was available for iOS then it would be available for Macs as well.

Thanks for the knowledge, wish I could answer your original question.

can you check and see if it works for you?

Sorry for the delay in answering, I wasn’t in a position to try.

That being said, I have tried multiple times with no luck. I can control a Roku through Chrome, but not my Xbox One.

It hasn’t worked for quite some time.

Ok, right. Thanks for your help - at least I can rule out a fault with my setup.
