Plex forwarding to app-qa.plex.tv - login warns it isn't hosted by plex

Hello.
When I try going to the plex web on a browser, it redirects to app-qa.plex.tv

The login window warns me this isn’t owned by plex.

What is this?
what’s going on?

Have tried various browsers, incognito tabs to omit extensions etc.

What is this.
I get it when going to http://app.plex.tv/web/app

Yeah, just came here to post the same.

Don’t know if this helps: sometimes the website https://app.plex.tv/ forwards to https://app.plex.tv:8080/desktop/

Same here

Came to post this as well, as my normal pc I watch plex on through the web client isn’t working. Just getting a page took too long to respond error. Another pc I’ve never connected to, redirected to the app-qa.plex.tv link and wanted a sign in.

The plex status site shows no issues with plex though, is that inaccurate?

Considering how many longstanding issues Plex has and how frequently things like this happen I wouldn’t give too much weight to the status page.

oh I know… It may have been a little sarcastic.

I’m seeing it too, on chrome. I get:

" Hmmm… can’t reach this page

app.plex.tv took too long to respond"

I have to use the web browser app at work so hopefully this gets resolved.

Thanks for this. It was forwarding to 8080 and not working. clicking the link app, plex.tv had it open right away

I had an issue connecting about 10 minutes ago. I noticed it had redirected to 8080 port as well. Using my bookmark https://app.plex.tv/desktop it fails to load. When I remove the “desktop” part of the link, it immediately loads, and redirects to https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/. Try removing everything except app.plex.tv in your browser for now.

Plex for Windows loads fine for me right now.

same here, I could access at this address: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/

do not know why /#! what’s that?

Plex Web doesn’t load at all at this point…

It is working if you do what others have suggested. That also worked for me…

I thought it was the shortcut for the “Home” sidebar, but it appears at the start of every single library I got. It’s probably just some HTTP flag to signal to a parser to stop/start reading the URL at that point.

Same here.

Any updates on this?

Any update? You can’t even get to it from the Open Plex button on the main website.

I’m told this should be fixed now.

I’m guessing it was forwarding to some sort of QA (Quality Assurance) internal site. And if that’s the case that’s sort of hilarious.
