Yesterday, Plex was working fine. Happily watched Corner Gas on my Roku during lunch.
This morning, it would not connect for remote access, and my Roku app would not find the server, which was running. This evening, I opened Plex and it’s all gone, no library, no settings, it wants me to install the media server, which is currently installed AND RUNNING. What happened? And please don’t suggest restarting the server, rebooting the computer, rebooting the router, restarting the Roku, or anything else like that.
And in the time it took me to start this thread and post these screenshots, I’ve lost another option in the settings. There had been 3 options under Plex Web: General, Player, and one other that’s gone now. It’s like Plex is literally being eaten up piece by piece.
The exact same thing happened to me on same day tried everything. rebooted everything reinstall everything no luck. Plex your latest Server and Player updates broke Remote Access which is the only reason I pay you a monthly fee. Fix or loose all your customers
Seems Plex let their SSL Certificate expire. The temporary fix for this is to disable Secure connections under Network settings on your plex server. And then also to allow insecure settings “always” on each individual device in plex app under “advanced” in settings. Worked for me and my mom. Once PLEX fixes real issue though should change these settings back.
