Plex Home - Live TV: Only Shows Live TV From First Server For Home Users

I’ve had a media server set up for some time now, with a few friends in my Plex Home. I started sharing Live TV with them recently and everything was working great.

I got my hands on the HDHomeRun Prime 3, Cable Tuner and have set that up at a different location where I have access to a cable subscription.

Unfortunately, even though I am the ‘owner’ of the server, and I see it, nobody in my Plex Home can. Is Live TV/DVR limited to the first server you create? I’d really like to have this secondary server, which only pushes Live TV, available to all Home users.

Is this something that can be done currently? Any thoughts on workarounds in the interim?

Thanks!

Did you go back into each Home User’s settings and allow them access to the new server and Live TV/DVR???

If they are Friends and not Home Users, they will not be able to use Live TV/DVR from any server but their own…

Solution: I checked each user’s restrictions, but they all had Live TV enabled. But something caught my eye this time. It read:

“Enabling Live TV for this user requires sharing a library with them. Enabling DVR will show all scheduled recordings, but this user will only be able to manage their own recordings.”

I didn’t have anything on server 2 except Live TV, I created a bogus library with a photo and allowed it through the users Home Shares.

This worked, and now all the users can watch Live TV from the second server.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the help. It helped me look in the right place.
