today I decide to add my wife as friend using her mail address. From Plex Home admin page I invited the user using the mail.
In order to accept the invite, I used the same my laptop where I already was logged into Plex (web client using Firefox).
Clicking on accept invitation link the login page has lost all managed users. I checked the Plex Home settings page noticing the all my managed users has been removed.
How did you accept the invite from her account if you were logged in? I may be misunderstanding. (the server logs will not help here since it is an account level thing)
Unfortunately once a managed user is deleted there is no way to restore them.
It may be similar to what happened to me last year when I was “testing” something. I don’t remember exactly what I did, but I did open the invite email to the user in the same browser I was already signed into and I didn’t read the email properly. The action of accepting wiped/deleted my plex home. 100% my fault for not slowing down and reading…
I had to follow the instructions in the post to recreate them and copy the history, it’s not a quick fix.
Who invited who?
You invited your wife?
Or did you the other way around? (Inadvertently perhaps)
If the latter, you might have joined the Plex Home of your wife (was there a check box labeled “add to home”?)
But since you already had your own Plex Home, when you joined your wife’s, it was destroyed.
I was logged into into my Plex Accout, but I opened her mail client. This is the root of the issue, should be a check between the recipient of the invitation and the actually logged user.
