Helped friend getting his PMS online now my users gone!

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3711
Player Version#: Plex Web

A friend of mine has been working on his PMS and sent me an invite to see if I could see it remotely. It changed him to the admin on mine and deleted other users within my house hold from my PMS. How can I get them back without having to recreate them? I don’t want to loose their played vs not played and I had a bunch of rating rules set up.

Has anyone had this happen and how do you fix this?

Thanks

He didn’t invite you as a friend, he added you to his Plex Home. You can only be in one Plex Home at a time, so when you accepted his invitation, you gave him “top billing.”

You should be able to just leave his Plex Home, and you will be re-established as admin of your own server. Afterward, have him send a Friend invitation, rather than adding you to his Plex Home.

Thanks. Makes sense. How do I get my users back that I had in my home plex? Or do I have to recreate them?

As far as I know, they should still be there. If they’re not, they were probably deleted when you accepted the invitation. You’ll have to recreate them.

Edit: I found this post from one of the ninjas. That should mean that your users and other server configs should still be there:

It completely removed my users and logged all of my devices in my home completely out. Their info might be in the files somewhere but how do I bring them back? All I see is the create/add new user.

I don’t know then. I haven’t dealt with this issue myself. I’ve been going off what I found searching the forum. Maybe one of the ninjas will jump in.

I do appreciate the help.

I’m guessing you haven’t seen this support article or saw the warning. When you joined your friend’s Plex Home, you left yours’.
