Plex HTPC - Casting from Android constantly disconnects

Server Version#: 1.30.0.6486
HTPC Version#: 1.30.1.3391
Plex Android Version#: 9.12.2.36964
Android Version#: 12 (Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra)

For years I have used my Plex App to cast to my PC as a remote control.
Earlier this year the casting feature was discontinued on the Plex App for Windows to move people over to Plex HTPC.

As previously I can ‘Connect to Device’ and see “Plex HTPC for Windows”. I can connect and cast as normal with control (start / pause / stop / volume / etc…).

However while im watching something, if I do not touch the Plex App on Android for some time, at a random point (generally 10-40 minutes) my phone loses connection to Plex HTPC. If I try to connect again, it will fail to connect to Plex HTPC. If I close the app and re-open it, then Plex HTPC does not show in the list of available devices.

When I use the mouse/keyboard on Plex HTPC its completely unresponsive…cannot minimize, cannot stop etc…and I need to Alt+F4 Plex HTPC and relaunch it. Then I can discover, and reconnect again with Plex for Android.

Now been dealing with this for about 6 months since we were forced from Plex to Plex HTPC.
Windows has been reinstalled. Plex for Android has been removed and cache deleted, and reinstalled. Have upgraded through countless versions. But the same error occurs.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Plex HTPC on Windows.
  2. Open Plex Android App.
  3. Select “Cast” on the App, and select Plex HTPC for Windows device
  4. Start playing any media.
  5. Put phone down, which will turn off screen as normal.

Expected Result:
When using the Plex App to stop the casting, or change media, it should be connected to Plex HTPC and responsive.

Actual Result:
Media on Plex HTPC continues to play however Plex app is disconnected after some time and cannot connect again until Plex HTPC for Windows is restarted

Reproduction:
100%

Workaround:
Close Plex HTPC and relaunch it and connect again with Plex App.
