Here is another list of techniques which may help.
Of particular interest, I think, is the little app which can log start and stop times of processes. You could try and find coincidences between lost focus and the start time of an app.
I will have a look at it.
But at this point, it feels like the cure is worse than the illness.
It’s been a while since I experienced the unwanted loss of focus, and if and when it happens again I have simple means of correcting it now.
I think I/we now have to resign ourselves to the fact that some small program or process on my computer is doing this but in such a subtle way that it’s hard to pinpoint.
