Plex HTPC no audio for Stereo MP3/AAC video files

Hi,

I have been using the old Plex Media Player for quite some time now. It plays everything and anything fine, through a receiver or just through the TV.

However I have just downloaded the new Plex HTPC and the only thing it does not play audio are my TV shows which have Stereo MP3 or AAC audio. Video plays but no audio for these types

I have pretty much checked everything in the Audio settings (audio device via HDMI, audio channels to 5.1, exclusive and normalise audio etc) but I can’t seem to get the audio for my TV shows.

I can hear the navigation sounds in the App and my movie collection is working fine as well.

Just wondering if other people are having the same issue?

Yes i have pressed the + button duriong playback and still no sound.

Do you hear the theme music playing when browsing to tv show preplay pages?

Are you using the speakers of the TV device
or do you have other speakers connected? If so, how is the connection done?

Yep, I hear the theme music play and all the beeps and bops when you move the highlighted box.

This is how its all connected:
TV is connected to my AV receiver. My NUC is also connected to the AV receiver.

So having the AV receiver on , I can get surround sound and hear eveyrthing, except for AAC and MP3 video files. If I just use the TV audio (no AV receiver) I get the same thing. Its all connected via HDMI

I use to use the old PLEX media centre and all video/audio will work.

I don’t have this issue and have a similar set up.

HTPC to AVR to TV via HDMI.

I have pass through for all audio formats (checked in Plex HTPC) and my AVR handles it all fine incl MP3 and AAC.

I don’t use auto select for audio device in Plex HTPC, I select my HTPC Audio HDMI
