Plex improvement proposals

Hello,

After some time of using Plex, here are some suggestions for improvements:

  • Allow downloading of videos to users.
  • Display the information of actors, directors, … (Date of birth, biography, filmography, …)
  • Can filter by type of files (avi / mkv …)
  • Can filter by type of video codec (xvid / h264 / h265 …)
  • Can filter by type of audio codec (AC3 / AAC / MP3 …)
  • Automatic update of Plex
  • Have a restart Plex button in settings.

Isn’t it already possible if you allow user to sync server content for offline playback ?
Plex web interface allows to download the raw file (Or is it a admin only thing ?)

The owner of the server can download (it’s his/her media)
Allowing others to “Download” is considered sharing, and illegal, in certain countries .

Because of that, there is no means for other users to “Download” media files from you. (aka. Piracy)
