When I upgraded Plex to 1.18 it was using 100% of my CPU for days since I have a very large music library. I had assumed that after a week or so that there was a a bug in 1.18. When I downgraded to 1.17. It renamed all of my Compilation Albums with an Album Artist of “Various Artists” to “Bastille.”
I have tried Refresh Metadata, Analyze and conducted a full Library Scan and yet the incorrect Album Artist persists. The only solution that I have found is to delete the album and re-add it to the Plex directory.
Is there a way to force Plex to re-scan these and correctly identify them as compilations with and Album Artist of “Various Artists”?
@kamhouse , thank you for posting this. I’m going to try this “Plex Dance” that @OttoKerner described to see if it helps since new Albums don’t experience this issue. I won’t know for a couple days since it will take that long for the metadata scanner to go through my music library.
It would be nice if we could flush Plex data on a per-folder/album basis.
