Plex iOS App Crashes When Switching Apps During Download

Hi,

I’ve noticed a new issue that wasn’t present before.

When I download content from the server to my phone, the download used to continue in the background if I switched to another app or returned to the home screen. Now, if I leave the app and later return to it, the app crashes. The download does not continue — it just stays stuck.

If I press “Retry,” the download restarts from the beginning. However, if I switch to another app again, the same issue happens.

This has been occurring for about two weeks. I’m not sure if there was an update around that time, but the problem hasn’t improved and it’s quite frustrating.

Please let me know if you need logs or additional details.

I have also observed similar issues on my iPhone lately. The crashes can also be triggered if the phone is locked and unlocked again

Hi,

Yeah, I noticed your post didn’t get much attention in the past 7 days either. I’ve actually been struggling with this issue for a few weeks now as well, but I didn’t have time to write about it earlier.

I did look around the forum before posting, but I didn’t see anything similar — looks like I must have missed your thread.

Hopefully this gets more visibility now that there are multiple reports.
