Plex IP's or FQDN's that are connected to

Hi All & Plex Support
I need some information which is not covered in your support kb.

Can you please provide a list of all fqdn’s the plex system will reach out to on startup and operation.

I understand you can’t account for my phone or tablet when I’m remote, But I need to create outbound firewall rules for everything which means without this info I can’t really use plex.

So far I’ve managed to find the following FQDN’s are contacted but I’m thinking this list is incomplete.

plex.tv
vod.provider.plex.tv
metadata.provider.plex.tv
music.provider.plex.tv
v4.plex.tv
analytics.plex.tv
resources-cdn.plexapp.com
meta.plex.tv

Thank you for the help

scroll down to “IPs being blocked” and follow the link at the bottom Current Worker IP Addresses

Hi OttoKerner,
Thank you for taking the time to responde
however I’ve checked that however it’s incomplete,
The list you referenced currently contains
54.170.120.91
46.51.207.89

However simple packet capture shows PMS doing queries for a bunch of FQDN’s one example being plex.tv.
if you check this resolves to 54.246.167.176 this is not on the list referenced in the support article you mentioned,
This is why I’m looking for a complete list of IP’s or FQDN’s that plex contacts.
Another example being Plex has to reach out to a remote server to determine it’s public IP.
So unfortuntely I need more details from the Plex team

I did not infer that this IP list is exhaustive. But it contains adresses which are particularly important for the automated remote access check.

Thanks OttoKerner,
I appereciate that you took the time to share the link however I was hoping that by now, that a member of Plex staff would have taken the time to ask a genuine question they have not documented in their KB.
Looks like they aren’t interested in doing so either.
Looks like it’s time to jump ship on plex and go to Jellyfin. It’s a shame that the Plex team can’t take the 60 seconds it would take to respond or better yet update their kb with a complete list so future users will be able to find out.
