Plex is adding one to two songs per minute to my library. Is this typical?

Server Version#: Version 4.59.2
Player Version#: Gerneral

I am adding a large collection of music a a library. It is adding a rate of 1 to 2 songs per minute. Considering the size of my collection, this makes Plex not the best option.

Is this typical of this app or I am not doing something correctly?

Thank you.

On what is this estimation based?
If you are going by the status messages in the drop-down area under the Status icon, don’t be fooled. The names of the albums in there are not changing as fast as the albums are matched.

In general, album and artist scanning is much faster, if you follow the recommended folder organization with subfolders per artist and subfolder per album. https://support.plex.tv/articles/200265296-adding-music-media-from-folders/

I’m wondering if the op is using the new sonic analysis with the “when media is added” option?
Its extremely slow (for obvious reasons) on an existing music library, so I imagine it will be slower still on a newly created library.

EDIT.
Sonic Analysis - has processed 6 albums in 40 minutes - Plex Media Server / Desktops & Laptops - Plex Forum

AFAIK, Sonic will only be triggered after all albums have been scanned.

Yeah. Apologies, you are correct.

I timed it. Actually it is slower than 1 to 2 songs per minute.

Based on what signals? When do you start counting and when do you stop?
