I’m grateful for the new build that is populating Artist Genres in flac files. However, it is not recognizing the ‘/’ separator between multiple genres, like it does in .mp3 files. So my artists with flac files get genres like
Odd. The genres are recognized and separated properly for me on both the artist and albums since the upgrade. I’m running windows, so I don’t know if that would make a difference.
I use MP3Tag and MusicBrainz Picard to tag with. I do know that when I tried using “/” as a separator, I saw results similar to what you posted. If I used “\\” (two back-slashes) as a separator the genres were separated. I don’t know what the linux equivalent to that is, or if that’s part of any tagging standards, but it works for me.
EDIT: I’ve been using that method for at least a couple of years. It’s not something I modified recently. Artists genres were not recognized until the recent fix though.
I believe that is correct. I do recall now reading somewhere that in order to write multiple and separate tags in MP3Tag for both flac and mp3 you use double backslashes, otherwise the tags are wrote as a single genre.
