Plex is unable to start due to an error

Hey guys,
I've set up a Plex Media Server on my computer and in the past I was able to stream my media perfectly on my PS4. Since a few months an error occurs when I open the app on the playstation: "Plex is unable to start due to an error". Most of the time the "Reset"-Button in unclickable, but sometimes I am able to click it. Now I log in and enter the pin via "plex.tv/link" and after a little loadingtime the same error occurs again. Do you have any idea whats causing the problem?

I'm getting the same thing on my PS4. I'm running Plex Server version 1.0.0.2261 on my QNAP NAS, and have had no real issues for several years until about 3 days ago. My PS3 (sits next to my PS4) has the Plex App and is fine, just PS4 doesn't work. As Katylchen2 above describes, the "Reset" button simply doesn't click.

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling and linking, and it still doesn't work. Need a fix quick!

I have the exact same Error :/
I see the Plex-logo for some time, then "unable to start ..." with not working "Reset Plex"-Button.

After reinstalling i can enter the 4-digit Code to connect but nothing changes.
Everything is good on my PC, the PS-Media-Player works fine, even Plex in the Browser works ... only the Plex-app does not.
Plex-App Version: 1.01

I'm getting the same thing on my PS4. Any solutions ??

Same for me I'm afraid. I suspect this is linked to Plex on PS4 "dialling home" to Plex HQ to verify sign in. Why do I think that? I have crap Internet (Australia) and when I have anything else downloading it happens.

Request for Devs - if this is true, please can we have a "disable dial home" as I only want to stream my library from the NAS two feet away...

Exact same issue here, only started a couple days ago. Tried reinstalling, same error, pressing ,reset plex, does nothing. What's the solution please, only reason I purchased plex pass was for the ps4 support when it first came out.

Solved it, disabled https on the server and enabled ip6 addresses, one of those two got it working.

How did you do that?

I've switched ip6 on plex on, and have rebooted everything, and no change here. HTTPS is on "preferable", which I assume means it has both HTTP and HTTPS, and if HTTPS fails it fails back to HTTP.

Still not fixed for me. This is very frustrating.

Hmmm... just Disabled the "Secure Connection", and everything speeded up... significantly... I mean seriously just sorted it's stuff out! I haven;t had a chance to test the PS4, but the web interface is really slick now.

OK, that fixed it. Disable secure connections and it's resolves. Can a dev perhaps weigh in here?

Hi folks,

The same issue, i updated, reinstalling, same error come every time, also the button "Reset Plex" does not function.
The sign in is okay, the display shows "You're all set..."

My PC, TV, IPAD and my mobile phone works fine, only PS4 still does not work.

When i look (PC Firefox) to Device it shows me:

Plex for Sony (PlayStation 4 01.40)

Plex TV
Sony (PlayStation 4 01.40)

what should I do, that plex make it work on my PS4.

My Router: FritzBox Cable
My NAS: Synology DS513+

I'm experiencing the same issue when attempting to connect via the Plex application installed on my TV's tuner. I've tried disabling HTTPS, but still the error continues. Any suggestions? Thx!
