Plex keeps pausing

Hi all - if there is somewhere better to put this please let me know.

I have a full lifetime pass and have set up plex media server up on my computer for personal use. I stream to an Amazon Fire stick on the same network. Up until recently (perhaps a couple of months ago) everything was fine. Now when I stream playback pauses after a few minutes and dosent restart. This also happens when I am using Plex to view stuff on the same computer it is stored on. I am using Windows 10.

When i have had this issue it was usually due to either cpu load maxing out on the computer - but more often harddrives being unable to feed data to plex due to being used for other tasks - i would check those first
