When streaming media from my plex libraries, plex seems to just stop streaming. I get spinning circle like it’s trying to buffer, but it never starts playing again. I have found that I can get plex moving again by changing the play option, switching between play original quality and convert automatically. It doesn’t seem to matter which option is selected to start, switching it resumes the progress. I have had this happen while streaming videos to my android phone via the plex app and while watching on my desktop via Edge or Chrome.
I haven’t found any commonality for when it happens (different media, different clients, different times of day)
Server Specs
Hyper-V guest, 10 CPU Cores, 12GB RAM
Guest C:\ drive is 150GB VMDK on ssd, media is stored on 16TB 7200RPM HDD passed directly to the guest.
I recently move the media to the 16TB drive to try and correct the issue, previously media was stored on a storage spaces pool (2x8TB drives, in a striped pool). I have reviewed the logs, and haven’t seen anything that would indicate a problem, but I’m also not sure what to look for.
Hyper-V Host Specs
