We need client AND PMS logs. I can’t reproduce this, neither can the dev, so we need as much info as possible.
What log files do you need? I can try to help as much as I can but being it isn’t my location that is having the problem will need to have my friend grab the requested files.

Probably testing/beta repo. There’s a chance we will have to add a profile to PMS, which will delay it. The dev is still figuring out options.
It is strange it works for some but not others though. Wish I could explain it.
Thanks for the update. It’s very strange indeed. Sometimes it will actually playback a file, but only after rebooting shield tv completely, or restart PMS on my server and rebooting the shield. That doesn’t always happen that way though. Almost seems random.
These are logs on client side that are specific to this problem, I’ve masked my IP for privacy reasons… However, if you go to the URL in an authenticated browser, it streams the media just fine. In the Plex Kodi app (remote hosts), it says playback failed. This all started happening after v1.10.x or v1.11.x
I have the same issue on 4 RPIs connecting from outside my network. Was running PMS 1.10xx at the time.
After playing around I was able to get them to work without rolling the server back to 1.09xx by:
allowing unsecured connections
lowering the playback quality to 720p 4mbps.
3 out of four of these RPIs are connected to their router via Wi-Fi. Same issue on the four of them.
All the issues went away when I rolled back the server to PMS version 1.9.7.4441-e5eb5d5a1.
You can download a previous version of PMS by modifying the regular download url from the download page as follow:
I am having this exact issue as well. Not sure how to work around it. I do not have the ability to roll the server back. I am using Plex Addon 0.14a. Has anyone figured out at least a workaround?

I am having the same problem by a Windows installation. Do somebody has a Downloadlink for the last Windows Version which is working?
Hi clegewie, see my post above. Just copy the windows download link and modify it by replacing the version number with the following:
1.9.7.4441-e5eb5d5a1
The problem is really tedious and I really don’t understand why this is not finally fixed once that project has more than 50 volunteer programmers like you read over and over again but a lot of clients just don’t work like you should.
The only solution I found for my users with the app is the possibility of the old server 1.6.1, it still runs with every client, but there are also some minor problems, but at least you can continue to use the apps.
Link to the old version:
PS: It would be really great if you could finally sit down and get all the apps to run with the latest server version. It’s really hard to burn hundreds of hours with tests, just because you only keep 2-3 apps up to date and leave the rest to yourself. Find it already a nerve for the current unsatisfactory status to charge money for a plexpass. Quite to say nothing of missing features that have been demanded for nearly 3 years by hundreds of users, simply to ignore!
