Plex libraries not available on some devices

I run my Plex server on an Unraid server in a Docker container. I use the Plexinc docker container, PlexPass version 1.43.0.10162.

I recently returned home after a week of vacation. When I got home, I checked to confirm that both unraid and plex server were running. Everything appeared to be fine until yesterday when my niece with whom I share plex with said they couldn’t see the server. I checked the plex server and confirmed it was working and that remote access was also enabled. Tonight my brother called me to say he also couldn’t see it.

This prompted me to check more of my devices. I can access my plex libraries using my PC (connecting to the server directly) and google TV that are on the same network with my server. However, my roku that is also on the same network does not see the server. I tried my phone, and it can see the server whether connected to local wifi or using cellular (i.e. remote). I checked and both my roku and google tv apps are up to date, although only the roku app is showing the new interface.

My brother was trying to connect remotely using a roku. He reported seeing the new interface so I presume the app is fairly up to date. He has been using my plex server for several years. My niece was trying to connect using the web app on her macbook, which she has also done successfully in the past. When I try the web app it works for me.

I’ve tried logging out and back in on the roku but it doesn’t change anything. I also had my niece and brother re-login, but it didn’t help.

An interesting wrinkle is that I have a second plex server on my network. I don’t use it regularly, it is just a test server I set up on a synology box so that I could better help my brother set up plex on his synology. My PC browser shows the synology server as unreachable while the plex.tv window doesn’t show the synology server at all. However, my roku that won’t show my main server does show the synology server

I have of course restarted the plex server with no change. It kind of seems like a problem with roku, except for it not working on my niece’s laptop. Any ideas where to start?

I don’t know when the server docker container last updated. Have there been recent server changes that may require me to change settings?

According to your account data, you have several times in the last days recovered a deleted server instance, only to delete it again about 30 seconds afterwards.
Are you habitually removing servers from your side bar, or from https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms ?
If so, don’t.

Not sure what account data you are referring to, but I have not been recovering or deleting anything. All of last week I was on vacation. Since returning, I did nothing but check that Plex was operating until my family started reporting problems.

The only unusual plex changes I have made in the last couple of months was recovering database because it became corrupted. Also, a few weeks ago my remote access mysteriously stopped working and I had to reset it several times to get it working. It seems to have been working fine ever since. Like I said, I can access my plex libraries using my phone with wifi off, which confirms remote access is working.

If something weird has been going on, it must be going on in the background without input from me. Could this be an suggest something that might explain the seemingly random inability to access my libraries?

Has this issue been resolved yet?

I came home from a weekend away to find the same issue with my Plex app. I can also access my libraries fine thru the server on my PC. I have two Roku devices and neither one will connect to the server. In fact, while I’m in the Roku Plex app, as soon as I go to click on libraries, the app crashes and sends me back to the main Roku menu. Both my Rokus are showing the new app interface. I suspect that this is likely something to do with the new interface or Roku.

Update - The problem was solved by uninstalling the Plex Media Server from my PC, then reinstalling the latest version (The older version I had wasn’t updating). The new app version wasn’t working with the older server version.
