Plex Library has stopped updating

question:

Is the Locale set to your Timezone or theirs ?

Did you run sudo locale-gen on it ?

Plex uses local host time (you can see this in your logs).
If the machine is in a different zone than you, your local timestamps and the cloud will be different.

they wouldn’t be a YEAR different!
they’re 7 hours ahead of me.

I got a reply back from my cloudhost:
“This is the first I have heard of this.
However, to the bestof my knowledge, Plex timestamps are set when files are added to Plex rather than when they are created, and they will probably have the container timestamp, which will be CET.”

Hmmmm. I still smell a rat.

The timestamp Plex uses is the timestamp of the file

From that point forward, internally it’s relative to “Date Added”
When matched, it also stores info about when the episode / movie were “first available at”

I purchased this test video disk and added them in 2022.

It shows in the XML.

Go look at the XML for a couple of your files and see what you get ?

wait. how?
the browser interface hasn’t worked for months. it can’t find my libraries at all.
…you don’t think that’s related do you?
i usually just use the apps and those work fine, it’s just the web interface that doesn’t work for me.
