Plex logs wrong IP

I have a remote user whose IP is being logged by Plex as 127.0.0.1 and I’m not sure why. Is this a bug? Does it have something to do with the users internet connection?

So I’ll get log entries like:
DEBUG - Request: [127.0.0.1:56464 (WAN)] GET … TLS GZIP Signed-in Token (user 1)

Where other remote users have entries like:
DEBUG - Request: [Remote IP:54770 (WAN)] GET …TLS GZIP Signed-in Token (user 2)

Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a way to fix it?

Is plex server on same computer as you log in to?

Since 127.0.0.1 is your local ip

test http://127.0.0.1:32400/web, In fact you would want this behavior and not route traffic outside your network if that is not needed.

My plex server runs in a jail on a separate NAS. The problem is that Plex is logging the remote user (several states away and definitely not running on the same machine as the server) as having IP address 127.0.0.1.

The logs recognize my local PC, and other remote users with no problems e.g.

Request: [192.168.1.101:56618 (Subnet)] GET /status/sessions (11 live) TLS GZIP Signed-in Token (my
username
)

Request: [Remote IP:54770 (WAN)] GET …TLS GZIP Signed-in Token (user 2)

Would sound like that it is jail routing, that has a proxy in-front which traffic is routed though causing this

Sorry, I don’t think that’s it either.

Is there an easy way to contact Plex for technical support or to report a bug? The contact form says that technical support questions will go unanswered.
