Plex Media Library auto reset

My Plex Media Library just automatically reset while I was watching something.

It reset and is re-scanning the Library as if it were uploading each item for the first time.

This happened for no reason and now leaves me with over 5000 items that I need to rename, sort, save posters, save details.

I need to start from scratch again. It has taken almost a year to have everything as it should be and now this!

How are your media files stored?
Are they outside of the Plex server device?
If that is the case, you must turn this off: Settings - Server - Library - “Empty trash automatically after every scan”
