Plex Media Player App Zooming in VIdeo

Hello,

Recently I have noticed the Plex Media PLayer App has been zooming in on video I playback on it. This does not happen with playback on the web browser, or my ipad/iphone. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I’m running this on a mac mini, running OSX El Capitan V 10.11.16. My Plex App is Version 3.7.0.

I have the same problem both in full screen and windowed mode.

The outer edges of the video are being cut off.

Its hard to notice unless there is text on the screen but I opened the same video with vlc player and more is shown.

Plex Media Player 1.3.4
OS X 10.11.6

Here is a screenshot from vlc player…

There is an older post on this same issue too…

I upgraded my mac mini operating system to 10.12.5

I tested other videos.
I tested other plex apps

The problem seems to be for videos wider than 16:9 - videos that should have black bars on the top and bottom of a widescreen tv.

“Plex Media Player for Mac” zooms in until I can’t see the black bars and keeps the same aspect ration so the sides of the video are cut off.

Plex for playstation, the Plex web app, and Plex for iPad all recognize the wide content and keep the black bars.

So I think this thread should be moved to this forum if an admin sees it…

So, apprently i must have hit something on the keyboard.
My problem was resolved with going to Settings>Video>Video Aspect , and choosing “Dispay Normally”. Please note that this is in the “TV Full Screen Mode”.

Having the same issue but on WIndows 10, using Plex Media Player… Any ideas why the scaling is so exaggerated and how to modify the zoom of the content whether fullscreen mode or not? Please make this more intuitive, Plex…

I am having the same issues! Running Plex on NAS, and when I try to view a video, it’s super-zoomed in and unwatchable. I went to settings, but did not see anything that would let me adjust the zoom level or aspect ratio or anything of the sort!! Please help, someone!
