Plex Media Player Embedded 2.31.0.974-748a1bb1 RPI 3B No Surround

I have used Plex Media Player Embedded 2.29.0.964-dbe04ebb on my RPI 3B and surround sound worked.

First settings:

Type = HDMI
Channels = 5.1
Passthrough DD, DTS and DDP (eac3 passthrough enabled through advanced configuration file) = ON

Result = All passthrough workes

Second settings:

Type = Standaard
Channels = 5.1
Passthrough DD, DTS and DDP (eac3 passthrough enabled through advanced configuration file) = OFF

Result = Multi Channel PCM 5.1

Now i have updated it to 2.31.0.974-748a1bb1 and now surround does not work anymore.

First settings:

Type = HDMI
Channels = 5.1
Passthrough DD, DTS and DDP (eac3 passthrough enabled through advanced configuration file) = ON

Result = Stereo PCM 2.0

Second settings:

Type = Standaard
Channels = 5.1
Passthrough DD, DTS and DDP (eac3 passthrough enabled through advanced configuration file) = OFF

Result = Stereo PCM 2.0

I have tested it with various video sources with DTS, DD and DDP and all have the same result of Stereo PCM 2.0

How did you get the v2 series to run on an rpi? Mine still show v1.

Running into the same issue, I found if I turned off “sound feedback” in the main menu, it would work. Try restarting after that also if it doens’t work right away.

@DJ-BrianC visit below link. You can download the latest PMP for embedded devices there. Been using them for awhile, works pretty decent!

Thanks for the link. I’ll have to get myself a new SD card to flash a new image. Are they on the new look like roku yet or does it look like the windows version?

It’s still the V2, Not Uno. Hoping the Uno version comes soon for PMP devices! I’m using on a Pi 3 and it works pretty decent. Live TV works pretty good. Was able to timeshift NCAA championship game last night without any issues.

I also just bought the MPEG codec license for the Pi so now my DVD’s and DVR recordings direct play. Can’t direct play or direct stream live TV, but I’m hoping once they releases Uno, that it will fix that.

What size SD is suggested for the RPI build?

I use an 8GB. Here are the specs so 8GB is plenty
